Mohammad Amir Surpasses Shahid Afridi In the List Of Most Wickets In T20 Cricket

The previously infamous Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir achieved a new milestone in the shortest format of the game. He became the third bowler from the country to take 350 wickets in the T20 format.

The left-arm pacer, representing Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024, achieved this remarkable feat in his team’s match against Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Amir took the wickets of Raymon Reifer and Romario Shepherd to join Wahab Riaz and Sohail Tanvir in the elite list of Pakistani bowlers to take 350 wickets in T20 cricket.

Moreover, Mohammad Amir also surpassed the record of India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar of bowling the most maidens by a pacer in T20s.

During the Carribean Premier League Antigua and Barbuda Falcons vs Barbados Royals match, Mohammad Amir bowled a maiden first over while defending 177 runs.

Amir outclassed hard-hitting batsman Rakheem Cornwall with his exceptional skills and did not allow the batter to score a single run from his over.

The recent maiden over pushed Mohammad Amir’s total in the twenty20 format to 25, leaving behind all top fast-bowlers in the world, including India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar (24) and Jasprit Bumrah (22), countrymen Wahab Riaz (21) and Mohammad Irfan (20) and New Zealand’s Trent Boult (17).

In the overall list, Amir is ranked third, only behind Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan (26) and West Indies’ Sunil Narine (30).
