Shaheen Afridi Heartbroken After Exclusion From PAK vs BAN 2nd Test

The PAK vs BAN 2nd test is scheduled to be played from 30th August till 3rd September at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. 

On Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced a 12-member squad for the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd test. 

Pakistan’s ace fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi was dropped from the 2nd test match squad. The decision came as a surprise to many, but there were many others who thought Afridi’s mediocre performance in the 1st test led to his exclusion. 

However, rumor has it that a member of the team management does not like Shaheen and played a key role in his exclusion from the 2nd test. 

Pakistan’s head coach Jason Gillespie said that Afridi was working on some things to improve his performance and is happy with the management’s decision to sit out this match. 

Just a day later, Shaheen Afridi has openly expressed his disappointment over exclusion from the 2nd test.

He expressed deep sadness over what he perceives as continuous unfair treatment.

According to the details, the blame for the humiliating defeat against Bangladesh in the first Test match in Rawalpindi has been unfairly placed on Shaheen. 

Despite the majority of the team not performing up to the mark, Shaheen was the only one to be dropped from the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd test squad. 

Mir Hamza and Abrar Ahmed were brought into the team. 

According to sources, the 24-year-old Shaheen recently embraced fatherhood. The pacer was allowed to fly to Karachi to meet his newborn baby boy, but was called back 2 days later. 

Upon returning, he was told that he will not be playing in the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd test which deeply angered him, rightly so. He was struggling to understand why he was recalled if there were no plans to play him. 

It is worth noting that the 1st day of the Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd test has been washed out due to excessive rain. This game is a must-win for the hosts to level the series.
