With less than 40 days to go in the beginning of ICC Champions Trophy 2025, many international stars are struggling with injuries.

Cricket fans around the world have reached the peak of excitement and curiosity as the mega ICC Champions Trophy is set to make a comeback after 8 long years.

Unfortunately, the fans’ spirits were dampened when key international stars acquired unexpected injuries.

Australia, one of the top contenders for winning CT25 has two injured players. Their captain and ace-pacer Pat Cummins is facing continuous ankle pain, while fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is recovering from a calf injury and a side strain.

On the other hand India who is another favourite to win the contest has hit a major hurdle right before the mega championship.

Their pace leader Jasprit Bumrah is still recovering from a back injury, and left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav is yet to regain full fitness after a groin injury.

As for Pakistan, star opening batsman Saim Ayub has acquired a right ankle fracture which is currently under treatment in London. His participation in the contest is highly unlikely as his injury has ruled him out of cricket for the next 6 weeks.

Bangladesh’s veteran all rounder Shakib Al Hasan is awaiting test results regarding his bowling action. Moreover, his colleague Soumya Sarkar is dealing with a dislocated finger joint.

Last but not least, South Africa’s pace duo Gerald Coetzee and Lungi Ngidi are receiving treatment for groin injury.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will commence from February 19th in Karachi. Defending champions Pakistan will lock horns with New Zealand in the opening match.

This mega tournament will be contested by eight teams divided into two groups of four. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. Group B comprises Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan.

The highly anticipated Pakistan vs India match is set to take place on February 23rd in Dubai.
