T20 World Cup 2024 Matches
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is the highlight of this cricket season. This year’s World Cup will be the stage where new players, new teams, and a new country will make a debut as the host of the grandest T20 competition.
The England team will step into the tournament as the defending champions. In 2022, they successfully lifted the trophy in Australia by defeating Pakistan with 5 wickets. However, this year they may find it grueling to maintain their title because of a record-breaking number of teams set to take part in the World Cup.
Will the English team create history by becoming the only team to win the T20 World cup 3 times or will an underdog take the world by surprise?
T20 Cricket World Cup Schedule
ICC announced the schedule of T20 World Cup 2024 in January. This year’s tournament will be co-hosted by West Indies and the USA. The latter will be participating in the tournament for the first time.
T20 World Cup will be contested by a record 20 teams, an expansion from 16 teams at the last edition of the tournament.
The tournament will commence on 2nd June with host USA facing Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas, USA. In the second match on the same day, host West Indies will face debutant Papua New Guinea in Providence Stadium, Guyana.
Until the 20-team group stage till 18th June, there will be at least one match played every day, but two or three matches on majority of the days.
The Super-8s will have two games on all days till 25th June, with both semi-finals taking place on 27th June.
The mighty T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 will come to an end on 29th June.
How many World Cup matches will be played in the United States?
A total of 55 matches played between 20 teams in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. United States of America will host 16 matches, whereas 39 matches will be played in the West Indies.
