Imad Wasim Retires From International Cricket, Once Again..

Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced his retirement from international cricket.

Imad took to X (formerly Twitter) to officially announce his decision to part ways with international cricket after 9 years.

“To all fans & supporters, after much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket,” he posted. “Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honor of my life, and every moment wearing the green jersey has been unforgettable.”

“Your unwavering support, love, and passion have always been my biggest strength. From the highs to the lows, your encouragement has pushed me to give my best for our beloved country.

“While this chapter comes to an end, I look forward to continuing my journey in cricket through domestic and franchise cricket, and I hope to keep entertaining you all in new ways.

“Thank you for everything. Pakistan.”

It’s worth remembering that Imad Wasim handed in his retirement from international cricket in November 2023 but retracted it earlier this year to play in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Imad’s inclusion in the World Cup squad made no difference as Pakistan had a disastrous time at the mega tournament and were eliminated in the group stage only.

Imad Wasim made his international debut in 2015 and represented Pakistan in 75 T20Is and 55 ODIs. He accumulated 1540 runs across all formats including six half-centuries and took 117 wickets.
