Has Shoaib Malik Retired From International Cricket?

Has Shoaib Malik Retired From International Cricket?

Former veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik recently made it clear that he has no interest in playing international cricket for Pakistan Cricket Team.

According to media reports, Malik has requested the Indian team to visit Pakistan to play ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Former captain of the PCT gave an interview to the Pakistani sports website ‘cricket Pakistan’ where he openly shared his future plans, career, and his take on the current captain of Pakistan squad.

When asked about the highly popular topic of India not wanting to visit Pakistan for CT25, Shoaib Malik said that the Indian team should separate politics from cricket. Since the Men in Green visited India to play ICC ODI World Cup 2023, it’s time for the Men in Blue to return the favor and come to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025.

Malik insisted that no matter how tense the political situation is between the two neighbors, they should not let that affect their cricket affairs.

Shoaib Malik who was also once married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza said that Pakistani people are nice and very welcoming, the Indian team should definitely visit our country.

Moreover, Malik also discussed the topic of Babar Azam’s captaincy and the speculations regarding performing a surgery in the Pakistan Cricket Team.

Former captain backed Babar Azam and said that removing 2-3 people from their positions is not the solution to any problem. When a person is brought into power, he should be given proper time to execute his plans.

If a very skilled player is always worried about his future in the team then how can he entirely focus on his or his team’s performance?

He added that any player who is brought into the team should be given ample amount of time to display his strengths and as far as team surgery is concerned, a surgery is performed when you have something to replace the removed part with, currently, we don’t have anything. These are the best cricket players.

As for his retirement, he said that he has no interest in playing international cricket for Pakistan and if and when he decides to hand in his formal retirement, it will be applicable to all sorts, types, and forms of cricket.
