New ICC Test Rankings: Babar Azam Moves Down A Spot

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has just released new Test rankings. Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam who was holding the third spot in the Test Batsman rankings has now moved down to the fourth spot.

Preceding him are New Zealand captain Kane Williamson at no.1, England’s Joe Root at no.2, and England’s Harry Brook at no.3.

Harry Brook moved up four spots to grab the no.3 position in the ICC Men’s Test Batsman rankings.

In the bowling department, only Shaheen Shah Afridi managed to grab a spot in the top 10 test bowlers.

In the ongoing England vs West Indies test series, Joe Root scored his career’s 32nd century. If he carries the same form into the third test match, he may end up snatching the no.1 spot from New Zealand’s Kane Williamson.

Here's a list of top 10 ICC Test Batsmen:

Rank Player Team Rating
1 Kane Williamson NZ 859
2 Joe Root ENG 824
3 Harry Brook  ENG 768
4 Babar Azam PAK 768
5 Daryl Mitchell NZ 768
6 Steve Smith AUS 757
7 Rohit Sharma IND 751
8 Yashasvi Jaiswal IND 740
9 Dimuth Karunaratne SL 739

There were no changes in the top 10 test bowlers rankings. India’s Ravichandran Ashwin holds the top spot, whereas Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi is on the 9th number.

ICC Test all-rounder rankings’ top spot is held by India’s Ravindra Jadeja.
