SA vs AFG Semi Final | T20 World Cup 2024

SA vs AFG Semi Final | T20 World Cup 2024

On Thursday, 27th June, South Africa created history by defeating Afghanistan and qualifying for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final.

The 2024 T20 World Cup has been full of surprises and it looks like the tournament’s final is going to be no less.

The SA vs AFG semi final was played on 27th June, Thursday, 5:30 AM, at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago.

South Africa has qualified for a T20 World Cup’s final for the very first time in history. This remarkable feat came in on Thursday, when the Proteas’ exceptional bowling crushed the Afghanistan batting lineup completely.

Marco Jansen's three-wicket burst with the new ball prompted the downfall of Afghanistan and the whole team got bowled out for a meager 56 runs only, the lowest target set in a T20 World Cup semi final.

Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan won the toss and chose to bat first but couldn’t manage to score a decent target.

Cameos from South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram took their team over the line and onto the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final in Barbados. The Proteas beat their opponents with 9 wickets and 67 balls to spare.

The highly anticipated final of the CWC 2024 will take place on 29th June, Saturday (7:30 PM), at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

South Africa will either play the final against India or England, depending on who is successful in the 2nd semi final of the T20 World Cup 2024 that will be played on 27th June at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Although the Proteas were not one of the favorites to qualify for the semi final or the final, they defied all the odds and expectations with their brilliance in all three departments of the game.

The South Africa vs Afghanistan semi final was one of the most interesting matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Will the South African team be able to carry the same momentum and energy in the final or will India/England bag another T20 World Cup victory?
