PAK vs SA: Babar Azam Becomes the 3rd Player in History To Achieve This Feat!

On day 1 of PAK vs SA 1st test, Babar Azam etched his name in history once again.

Pakistan team’s former white-ball captain Babar Azam has become the third player in the world to score 4000 runs in all three formats of the game i.e, Test, ODI, & T20I.

Although Babar’s innings weren’t handy in setting a chase-worthy target for the South African team, his 4 runs off 11 balls took him past the 4000-run mark in test matches.

Babar returned to Pakistan’s test squad after he was dropped from the PAK vs ENG 2nd and 3rd test matches.

On team level, the former captain’s comeback wasn’t how he’d hoped it to be. Babar edged a delivery to Aiden Markram at second slip, returning to the pavilion after a disappointing 4-run knock.

But on a personal level, Babar cemented his place amongst other cricket legends and etched his name in history as one of the most remarkable players to grace the game.

This significant milestone has previously been achieved by only two other Indian legends; Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Babar’s total now stands at 4,001 runs from 56 matches in tests, 5,957 runs in 123 matches in ODIs, and 4,223 runs in 128 matches in T20Is.

On the other hand, India’s heroic batsman Virat Kohli has amassed 9,166 runs in 121 tes matches, 13,906 runs in 295 ODI matches, and 4,188 runs in 125 T20I matches. He was the first one to achieve this remarkable feat.

Trailing behind him is Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. His tally stands at 4289 runs in 66 test matches, 10,866 runs in 265 ODI matches, and 4231 runs in 159 T20I matches.
