PAK vs ENG 3rd Test: Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures Like Fans & Heaters

PAK vs ENG 3rd Test: Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures Like Fans & Heaters

The Pak vs Eng 3rd & final test will be played from 24th-28th October at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. With the series level 1-1, this match will be the true series decider.

As expected, both teams will pull out all the stops to win this game and the series. Apart from making changes in their strategy and squad, the Pakistan team is going all in with efforts to modify the pitch according to their strength i.e, spin bowling.

Noman Ali’s exceptional performance in the Pak vs Eng 2nd test magically turned the game in Pakistan’s favor, hence the Men in Green will be looking to follow the same strategy in the 3rd and final test.

The hosts lost to the tourists by an innings and 47 runs in the 1st test, but bounced back a week later with a massive victory, thanks to the brilliant spin attack led by Noman Ali and Sajid Khan.

The hosts played four spinners in the 2nd Test in Multan. And that plan to use the same pitch that was further dried using fans, paid off as England, who posted 823/7 in the first Test, posted totals of just 291 and 144 in the second Test.

In a desperate attempt to win the last match and the series, Pakistan is doing everything to create a pitch that will once again favor the spinners.

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, the pitch curators have been deploying industrial-sized fans, outdoor heaters and windbreakers in a bid to dry out the surface at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

These efforts could also benefit the English spinners. It’s highly likely that the team that will win the toss will end up winning the match as a dry surface cracks up as the day progresses.

With Shoaib Bashir and Jack Leach taking frequent wickets for England, the tourists may also benefit greatly with the slow spin-friendly track.
