Pakistan vs Australia 1st T20I Live Match Updates: Rain Dampens The Spirits of the Players

Pakistan vs Australia 1st T20I Live Match Updates: Rain Dampens The Spirits of the Players

The Australia vs Pakistan 1st T20 has been delayed due to rain and lightning at The Gabba in Brisbane.

The 1st game of this three-match T20 series was set to commence at 1 PM (PST), but was delayed due to dark clouds taking shelter over Brisbane.

Unfortunately, Brisbane is inside the storm-warning area, therefore, will be subject to the worst weather conditions.

Live images from various sources reveal heavy dark clouds over The Gabba and covers placed all over the pitch.

The shortest game that could be played today is five-overs per team, but the cut-off time for that too is 3:29 PM (PST).

Apart from rain, it’s the thunder and lightning that’s the real culprit behind the game getting delayed.

Generally, T20I matches will have a buffer of time to allow for rain delays. About three hours of delays are allocated for a 10-over-per-side game to begin.

If this match gets canceled then all eyes will be on the 2nd T20I that’s set to take place November 16th, Saturday, in Sydney.

Not to be a killjoy, but there’s rain forecast on Saturday at the Sydney Cricket Ground..

More than an hour has passed since the scheduled start time and there’s still no sign of the toss.

According to the Queensland Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane is now just outside of the severe thunderstorm area.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the match to begin anytime soon.
